Thanksgiving

Thursday Novmeber 28th, 2008
Today is Thanksgiving and it was a really good day. Our family has so much to be Thankful for- a nice house to live in, two healthy kids, this free country, great families, the gospel, the savior, ect. The list could go on and on, but we have a wonderful life to be very grateful for.
Anyway this morning we just hung around our house while Jake tried to get things outside our house ready for winter. He insulated our pump house so our water won't freeze, and built steps going down into the pump house. Then at 2:00pm we met at Jakes's parents, Diana and Fred Ball's house, to eat dinner. We were suppose to be there at 1:30pm, but of coarse you all know that we really struggle to be on time. So we were late like always. So anyway Diana forgave us for the late arrival and we ate dinner soon after.
Diana is a wonderful cook so the food was amazing!!!! Everyone in Jakes family was there but Liz and Matt. Angie and Bryon were not there, but they live in Texas. Diana's sister Kathy ate with us too. After dinner we cleaned up while the kids played outside and rode on the four wheelers. Andrew found a bike with training wheels and tried that out. He actually did really well. We will have to get him a bike for Christmas. He has been asking for one. I took some pictures of him, but I have not figured out how to post them on here yet so I will work on that.
Later we played Catch Phrase for a while and then everyone started taking off.
I am so grateful to those that made the meal. I never realized how much work these things are until I got married and had kids.
It was a really nice day!

Andrew's 3rd birthday

Today is Andrew's 3rd birthday. This is an exciting birthday because it is the first one that he knows what is going on. He has gotten really excited about this whole thing. Yesterday I threw a party for him and he loved it!! All of his cousins that live in Pocatello and some from Blackfoot came. It got started about an hour late, but other than that everything went well. Oh ya- except that Isaac Christensen accidently hit Cannon Ball in the head with a bat while were doing the pinyata. It was m fault because I was in charge and didn't tell the kids where to stand, but this is my first time taking charge of a little kid party so I learned some things. I will do better next time. And Cannon ended up ok.
The kids did the pinyata, ate cake and ice cream, and opened presents and that was all. It was very short and sweet. But Andrew loved it and has been talking about it ever since. He especially loved being sung to.
Then today Jake gave him his present. He got him a live turtle. We had to drive out to Blackfoot to pick it up and Andrew had fallen asleep on the way. So when he saw it he was not quite awake and didn't like it at first, but it is growing on him. Now both him and Cameron really like it and call it "My Turtle." It is really cute. Jake set his tank up in their room and they love it.

An early Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Today my parents and all my brothers and sisters that live in Pocatello got together to have an early Thanksgiving dinner. My parents, Ali and Mike, and Stacey are going to Cancun Mexico for Thanksgiving so we celebrated a little early. We had a huge delicious dinner with all the traditional foods- turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy (my dad makes the best), pumpkin pie, and ice cream. After we finished eating we celebrated the upcoming birthdays- Andrew and Isabelle. These birthdays are not for a while, but they will occur while the parents are on vacation. Andrew got a new beach towel with a picture of a handyman on it and a tool set in a backpack. He loves his presents. He has been wearing his backpack around ever since he received it. He even slept with it. He also really enjoyed being sang Happy Birthday to. This is his first birthday that he is really aware of what is going on and he has really been looking forward to it. So it was a really fun time.
